Blessing question The following question is put to the parents or guardians bringing the child for blessing: Do you thank God for the gift of (name of child) and do you trust God to help you as parents as you care for him/her? Do you promise to surround her/him with goodness, love and respect? The expected answer to each of these questions is ‘I do’ Question put to family and friends attending the blessing • Will you, as family and friends help (parents/guardians names) as they bring up (name of child), and will you promise to surround him/her with all that is good and true? The expected answer to each of these questions is ‘we will’.
